Photographic statement
I have been dabbling in photography since 2012, with a particular interest in Macro photography of wildlife. I love looking for the little details, and being able to highlight them for myself and others. It's the little things that are easily overlooked, but are often spectacular that really drive my passion for photography. I find it exciting and exhilarating to find the mushrooms hiding the some damp moss, or a little slug on its journey across a massive landscape.
I have categorized my photography below into the following categories: Wildlife, Plants/Fungi, Insects/Arachnids, Landscapes, and Miscellaneous. Enjoy!

I plan to update my photography portfolio as I work thought the many photos of insects, arachnids, and plants I have taken in the last two years Past One of my photographs won a competition and was used as the cover photo for a scientific publication: Ecosphere (Volume 9, Issue 3). The photo was taken in Ecuador in 2014 while I worked as a research assistant for an MSc. student studying community ecology in social spider webs. The photo shows ants working together to steal a beetle carapace from within the spiders' communal web. The photo is looking up at the underside of the spiders' nest. |
